How to Determine the Facing of Your Property.

To identify the Facing Direction of your property:

1. First, you need a compass or a Luo Pan. Stand in front of your door with your compass or luo pan.
2. The dial will automatically rotate & align itself with the facing direction of the property.
3. Find the Facing of your home or property. The facing of your home is the direction in which your home was meant to face. Do NOT use the location of your Main Door to determine your facing, as the Main Door may not be located where your facing is. Your facing is the facade of the house, or the direction in which the house is meant to face.
4. Once you have identified where your home faces, stand at the center of your facade, look outward, and observe the direction in which the compass or Luo Pan yields.
5. This is the Facing Direction of your property or home.

How to Determine the Period of Your Property

 If you moved into your home between the years 1984 and 2003, then your property is considered a Period 7 property.
 If you moved into your home between the years 2004 and 2023, then your property is considered a Period 8 property.
 If you are buying a house that has been occupied before you, you have to refer to the first occupant's move-in date

How to Determine the Location of Key Feng Shui Features of Your Property

After determining the Facing of your property, you can identify the locations of the key Feng Shui features of your home (Main Door, Master Bedroom, and Kitchen) and other secondary rooms in your home.

 First, you will need the floor plan of your home.
 Then, take the 9 Grids stencil and superimpose it over your house plan.
 Then, mark out the Facing Direction of your house in the center square of the grid where the front of your house is located. For example, if your home faces South (South 1, 2, or 3), mark South in the center square of the three squares that correspond with the front of the property.
 Mark out the rest of the directions in an orderly, clock-wise fashion.
